Can I book online?
Yes — parties of 1–6 can book online. Parties of 7 or more, same-day bookings after 4:30 p.m. and seat requests are by phone — seats cannot be chosen online.

Courses can be booked from two guests; à la carte dishes can be enjoyed from one. For hot-pot courses, reserving 3 days in advance is the surest way — same-day or next-day may still be possible depending on the pot and party size, so please call +81 75-571-2804 to ask.
What about cancellations or changes?
Please let us know as early as you can if your plans change — online bookings through the booking site, phone bookings by phone. For large parties and course meals, changes at short notice may not be possible.
Can I request a private room or tatami room?
Seat requests are taken by phone only (+81 75-571-2804). Online bookings are assigned a table by us, so seats cannot be chosen there. We may not always be able to meet a request, but please do ask.

FoodFood & Menu
What do you recommend?
The live-fish sashimi platter from the auction, raw oysters and our signature “Taisho roll”. At lunch, the Taisho-don and Hokkai-don bowls are favourites. The most popular course is the “Take”; there is also a fugu full course, and in winter the hot-pot courses.
How much should I expect to spend?
Kaiseki courses from ¥4,950 (hot-pot courses from ¥3,600) (fugu full course ¥13,200). À la carte is mostly market-priced by the season; the day's picks and prices are posted under Today's recommendations.
Do you serve live fish, kept in tanks?
Yes. We run our own live-fish tank truck and bring the fish back to Kyoto still swimming, and we keep several tanks at different temperatures in the restaurant. In winter that means live squid, live monkfish and live cod — fish you will rarely find elsewhere in Kyoto.
Can you accommodate allergies?
Please tell us when you book — we will discuss what is possible.
Can you leave out an ingredient I don't like?
Please mention it when you book. Subject to what we have bought that day, we will do what we can.
Do you offer all-you-can-drink?
We don't run an all-you-can-drink plan. Instead, parties in a private tatami room can order a beer keg with its own dispenser, which works out well for larger groups. Please call +81 75-571-2804 to arrange it.
Is there a children's menu?

Can I get a takeaway?
Yes — takeaway is available on request. Please call +81 75-571-2804 to discuss what we can prepare that day; the latest is on Instagram.
